Sunday July 12---Start times—6:30, 7:00 and 7:30. Looks like it is going to be warm and the wind is going to come from the west. For those of you who want to do the traditional Frank 100—the route is Bevs on the bike trails through South Sioux to Dakota City. West on hwy 35 to just north of Hubbard(Kati will not miss again) North on North bluff road to HWY 20. Stop in Jackson. West on hwy 20(shoulders good) to HWY 12 to Ponca. Stop again. Then to Newcastle. Not good shoulders here so extreme caution. Single file—call out vehicles. Good time to use lights and flashers. Restaurant should be open in Newcastle. Then though Newcastle on 12 . (if you are out for a super challenge you can proceed to Yankton via 12 and come back on HWY 50 through Vermillion. ) Turn right on HWY15 which will take you over the $25 million plus scenic bridge to Vermillion via east Dakota street. You will see Park and restrooms. Great places to eat and drink in Vermillion. Continue on to Burbank..not missing the correct turn on Burbank Road. Burbank has Whimps for food and drink. Continue on to Elk Point. Plenty of food and drink. Ride through town to the Kum and Go, Break here because there is 20 miles of no stops. South on 477 Ave, east on 330th st., south on 480 the Ave., east on 334th St. over 1-29 bridge. Back on Military Road to Riverside. Dairy Queen on your left…Enter Riverside Park. Bambooze on your right…take bike path back to Bevs. Not sure of exact miles as we are starting from Bevs. This is only a suggested route. Ride your own ride. We will have better directions if you need them. Ron Begnoche will also have some ideas for routes.
